Eerik Beeton
Head of Growth | Teamed
In this interview, we’re thrilled to feature Eerik Beeton, Head of Growth at Teamed.
With a career spanning diverse industries like health tech, HR tech, and employee engagement, Eerik brings a unique perspective on building meaningful connections in a tech-driven world.
Read on for Eerik’s insights into fostering human connection, the power of mentorship, and the trends that will shape HR and recruitment in the coming years. Let’s dive in.
Can you share a bit about your career journey and how your experiences across industries like health tech and HR tech have influenced your people-first approach to marketing at Teamed?
I’ve always been curious—so I always want to say, I always wanted to know what makes people tick. What I mean by that is, why do they do what they do? Why do they trust certain brands and not others? It’s actually what drew me to marketing in the first place.
Over the years, I’ve worked across a range of industries like health tech, HR tech, and employee engagement. Each experience, including my time at Winningtemp, taught me something new about people. Marketing is the voice of the customers, and it ensures businesses can be customer-centric.
In health tech, I learned how a small change in user experience could make a life-changing difference. In HR tech, I saw the importance of employee engagement and experience, not just for retention but for business health. If you check Gallup and Forrester research, you’ll see how much employee engagement can impact the bottom line—not only through reduced attrition but because people feel a sense of belonging and try harder.
At Teamed, I’ve brought all of this together. I feel like I’m helping businesses globally navigate hiring while making sure remote employees feel part of the team. A people-first mindset is at the core of what we do. When I joined Teamed almost two years ago, one of the founders said, “No remote employee should feel like a second-class citizen.” That’s something I’ve taken to heart, and now we’re all about the human experience—making sure employees, customers, and end users all feel valued.
What sets Teamed apart in the Employer of Record space with its focus on human experience?
What makes Teamed different is that we genuinely care. It might sound like a cliché, but it’s true. In an industry where many providers focus on building the flashiest platform with heavy automation and AI, we focus on people.
Every business we work with and every employee we hire feels a personal touch. That’s something we constantly hear in our customer reviews, calls, and onboardings. Employees, whether they’re in South Africa, Canada, or anywhere else, should feel they belong, that they’re cared for, and that they’re not just a name in a system.
We’re not here to just do payroll—we’re here to help businesses grow and to make remote employees feel supported and valued. When our customers grow, we grow. It’s about growing together and fostering true partnerships. We ensure there’s always a human connection—no looping chatbots or impersonal forms. Clients can reach us in real time through our WhatsApp integration, have our email and phone numbers, and know they’re speaking to someone who genuinely understands their needs.
How does your “infinity loop” strategy enhance client engagement and retention?
The infinity loop is about seeing marketing as an ongoing relationship, not a one-and-done transaction. At Teamed, we focus on building trust and creating value at every touchpoint, before, during, and after the deal is signed.
It’s not about simply pushing leads through a funnel and moving on. Instead, we ensure we’re always finding ways to improve the client’s experience. We innovate constantly, every week, every month, to make things better. This could mean tailoring support, refining processes, or just being there when our clients need us.
Unlike other Employer of Record services that rely on rigid contract templates, we offer customisation based on client preferences. For example, if a client requires specific clauses in their employment contracts, we work to incorporate them in a compliant manner. This flexibility fosters trust and ensures our clients feel fully supported throughout their journey with us.
The infinity loop also means rethinking traditional marketing and sales silos. We don’t rely on outdated metrics like MQLs; instead, we focus on generating real opportunities and revenue. By aligning marketing and sales as one revenue team, we create a seamless experience for our clients and foster stronger, longer-lasting relationships.
What unique challenges do you see in the Employer of Record industry, and how does Teamed address them through Human Experience?
One of the biggest challenges in the EOR industry is ensuring remote employees feel like they’re truly part of their company. Cultural differences play a huge role here. For example, as someone from Finland, I’m comfortable with a third-party company handling my contract because I come from a country with strong labour protections and unions. But in regions like the Middle East, there is often a stronger desire for direct employment relationships due to established norms and expectations.
At Teamed, we tackle this by ensuring communication is clear and transparent. We focus on making the onboarding process smooth and personalised so employees feel supported right from the start.
Another challenge is simplifying global hiring for people teams. Many businesses feel overwhelmed by the complexity of managing employees across multiple regions — different regulations, processes, and cultural nuances. We act as an extension of their HR or finance teams, taking care of these complexities so they can focus on growing their business.
How does your leadership style and focus on mentorship support team development and drive impactful results?
I see leadership as empowerment. My role isn’t to micromanage or dictate but to give my team the tools, opportunities, and confidence they need to grow. Of course, there are times when hands-on management is necessary, like during training, but overall, I focus on enabling people to find purpose in their work and grow in their roles.
At Teamed, we work in sprints. This approach helps us prioritize high-impact projects while managing the realities of being a scaling startup. It keeps the team focused and motivated. Mentorship is a big part of this — I believe it’s a two-way street. I learn from my team every day, and I encourage open, honest feedback.
One thing I’ve learned is that marketing can’t be the “yes” department. While I genuinely enjoy supporting others and finding solutions, I’ve learned to set boundaries and prioritise effectively. Balancing flexibility with assertiveness ensures we stay focused on our goals while fostering a culture of trust and collaboration.
What trends in HR and recruitment do you think will have the biggest impact in the next few years?
The future of HR is all about flexibility and connection. Remote work isn’t going anywhere; in fact, it’s becoming more embedded in how we operate globally. We’re seeing trends like digital nomad visas and global talent strategies, as well as shifts in demographics, like aging populations in Western Europe and India. This is creating opportunities for talent pools in regions like South Africa.
With these changes come challenges, particularly in keeping remote and hybrid workers engaged and connected. Companies need to strike a balance between using technology for efficiency and maintaining meaningful human interactions.
AI will play a role, but it’s not a silver bullet. Companies that succeed will use technology to empower their people, not replace them. Strategic thinking and people management will remain critical, even as AI takes on repetitive tasks. Ultimately, the companies that prioritize trust, engagement, and human connection will thrive.
What advice would you give to marketing and HR leaders about fostering meaningful connections in a tech-driven world?
Keep it simple — focus on people. Technology is great, and I’m a digital marketer at heart, but it’s not a substitute for human connection. Whether you’re engaging with clients, employees, or your own team, prioritize relationships over tools.
Don’t cancel a meeting because a piece of technology isn’t working; pick up the phone and have the conversation. Be open to change, invest in your team, and empower them to do their best. When people feel valued, they show up and achieve amazing things. At the end of the day, it’s all about creating an environment where meaningful connections can flourish.
